Erika Olimpia Rodríguez Morales

Winner · STEM Talent Award: National Teacher Prize Mexico 2022.

Erika Olimpia Rodríguez Morales holds a Master of Science in Aquaculture with over 15 years of professional experience. She teaches at CEMSAD 255 Puerto Madero in Tapachula, Chiapas. With her students she has taken part in contests organized by UNAM and other renowned institutions, and she is a member of the Red Investiga of the Chiapas Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Her teaching methods include STEM Education focused on environmental education — through which she created a school nursery — and Project-Based Learning. Her Environmental Education Strategies program won first place in the 2021 COBACH SEMARNAP call.

Passionate about the environment, with her students she has developed innovative projects for water cleaning and the use of solar energy and plants for human use, earning multiple recognitions. Her school algae nursery is a showcase of her work.

Her commitment to the 2030 Agenda and to young people — giving them STEM tools to face the challenges of the 21st century — led her to win the third edition of the STEM Talent Award: National Teacher Prize Mexico.
